Recent news: April 12, 2008 I made a few updates to the Keyfinder adding some new command-line options as well as saving to csv format. I also removed the 'beta' tag from the release. The Keyfinder is stable. I'll never really feel like it's completely done, so to me, it's always in development. Enjoy! March 26, 2008 I finally came to the conclusion that I just don't have the time to figure out how to add all of the features I want to add to the Keyfinder. Because I want the software to be the best it can possibly be, I decided to release it as open source yesterday. I've added some features to the Sourceforge project page that I would like to see added, and I'm currently looking for some developers with extra time and knowledge that can help out with any of them. I'm sure we'll need help testing as well. Thanks everyone for all of your support and patience over the years. I think this is the best direction for the Keyfinder to develop it into a truly great little application. December 22, 2007 I updated the Keyfinder to 2.0 Beta 4. Included are a couple of bug fixes including where I screwed up Windows 2000 key retrieval. October 6, 2007 Updated Keyfinder to Beta 3, adding Windows Vista x64 support and "Always On Top" option. Still trying to get Remote Key Retrieval working... September 16, 2007 Recompiled Keyfinder v2.0 Beta 2½ with a brand new icon! I know, I know... not the update everyone wants.... still working on it though. It's coming... some day. August 25, 2007 I had to take down the forum a while back due to soooo much spam. It was crazy. Anyway, I wrote a new program that probably no one will need, but I put it on here anyway. I needed it for my job. It's an ABA Routing Number Check Digit Calculator. December 7, 2006 Forums are back up! Rejoice! Hoorah! December 6, 2006 I'm not sure why, but my old hosting account has been disabled. I think I may have exceeded my 50GB bandwidth limit. I moved the site to a new location, but it may take a bit before everyone's able to see the site. Sorry for the downtime! This new location was intended to be for the support forums I was going to try and set up again. We shall see.... Update: We're back up on the original server but all of the downloads have been pointed to http://www.mjbforums.com/files/ November 21, 2006 Happy Turkey Day! Ahem.... anyway. I put up a beta 2½ with the couple of updates I've had a chance to make. I hope everyone has a good holiday... and stay out of the stores this weekend! October 25, 2006 I added a beta section again for a new version of the Keyfinder I've been working on! I still have some things to implement, but it's looking good so far. Another thing I'd like to address is all of the emails I've been receiving saying the Keyfinder is infected with a virus. No... it's not. Your virus scanner, essentially, is being overprotective. It's trying to do more than scan for viruses. With today's wonderful world of spyware, it seems that a lot of scanners out there are identifying software that "can be used by a malicious user for malevolent purposes." (That is a direct quote from the Trendmicro write-up for the Keyfinder.) I'm on a roll here. Let's just keep on going. Is anyone out there graphically inclined? I'm not. Let me know if anything appears broken, because it probably is. :P August 5, 2006 Wow...... It's been 3 years since I've touched this website. Hopefully it's not another 3 until I do it again. Anyhow, here's a quick update to the Keyfinder to add Windows Vista support. I went ahead and removed the beta status and just made it v1.5. Toss me an email if I broke something. July 18, 2003 I just finished adding FLAC support and the ability to select which files you want to convert to the SHN Shortener July 15, 2003 Added a couple more encoding options to the SHN Shortener.
